Austin, May 4 – Little Sidney Spies, 12, Saturday sat on pads to boost him into the proper position and sped his skilled fingers over a keyboard to win the state high school championship in typewriting.

An entrant from Sydney Lanier Junior High School of Houston in the thirtieth annual Texas Interscholastic League meet, Spies won the title in tests combining accuracy and speed.

Second highest typing honors went to Lavoy Burke of the Five-in-One school in Vernon and third to Mina Miller of Athens High School.
